Single Sign On implementation

Single sign implementation across companies has come a long way in the past few years. With the advent of the SAML protocol and various off the shelf implementations of service provider and identity provider code, it is now possible to implemented a federated SSO implementation in a short time with very low cost. I think a lot about how technology is evolving to provide more functionality and complexity without necessarily improving the quality of life. This evolution of single sign-on is a great one that makes life easier for end-users.
